This screencast demonstrates how to influence the way a midi file sounds, by choosing different soundfonts. The goal is to add interest to the somewhat generic bossa nova song. (The video doesn't have great sound quality; see the mp3 below).

Materials: starting bossa.mid, stereo piano soundfont, and soundfont of Final Fantasy 7 instruments.
